Several Bullock's Oriole broods have fledged in this one area. I counted at least eight fledglings. I rarely see them after they leave the nest, so this was a special treat today.

Each season is a little different and each bird is different. Take these Bullock's Orioles. I almost never see a female pop up and sit at the top of a tree like that. As a result, this is my first clear photo of a female oriole!
.
Mom and Dad (third photo) were guarding their babies. I could hear the fledglings, but couldn't see them. Maybe I will get to see them in a day or two.

I posted awhile back about the two orchids we received as gifts when our almost 8-year-old son was born. They rebloomed every year until 2020.
🌸
Well, they are back! The first is in full, tremendous bloom right now. The second I had almost written off as a goner. Its leaves shriveled and roots waning. It had even been dropped. But look! It has a new leaf and three roots growing.
🌸
A lesson in patience and believing in the power of renewal.
